Beginning Tok Pisin, Lesson 1

Good day, readers!

Hi, I'm Glen Villar of Reynaxis Solutions, and welcome to my blog.

Tok Pisin is one of the most widely used languages in Papua New Guinea. Despite PNG's remarkable linguistic diversity, with over 800 languages spoken across the country, almost everyone can speak Tok Pisin.

Did you know that learning Tok Pisin isn't difficult? If you're interested in starting but don't know where to begin, watch my video below, where I cover some basic phrases to get you started.

Giant Mud Crabs in Papua New Guinea

Good day readers!

Hi, I'm Glen Villar of Reynaxis Solutions, welcome to my blog.

Mud crabs are a delicious crustacean delicacy, and while they are not found everywhere in the world, they have a broad distribution and can be found mainly in the Indo-Pacific region. This includes countries such as the Philippines, Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Taiwan, Japan, and Papua New Guinea.

Giant mud crabs, which can grow to a size almost as big as a medium-sized frying pan, are also found in Papua New Guinea. The largest ones are typically found in areas with fewer residents compared to the big cities in Papua New Guinea, like Daru Island.

If you want to see the mud crab that I bought in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, please watch the video below.

How To Put a Limit to Internet Bandwidth

Good day readers!

Hi, I'm Glen Villar of Reynaxis Solutions, and welcome to my blog.

While many of us get our internet from mobile data plans, some of us, particularly in the business sector, subscribe to independent ISPs like NWTL in Papua New Guinea. The main reason for subscribing to an Internet Service Provider is to efficiently share internet bandwidth across multiple branches of a business. In such setups, ISPs often employ managed routers, like MikroTik, to handle internet traffic and routing.

In this blog entry, I'll show you how to limit internet bandwidth for specific devices or computers on your network using a MikroTik router. Please watch the video below to learn more about this topic.

How to Block a Windows Application

Good day, readers!

Hi, I'm Glen Villar of Reynaxis Solutions. Welcome to my blog.

Do you know there's a way to prevent an app from running on Windows OS? This technique can be particularly useful when your office PCs are not part of a domain, and you lack central control to set policies for all the PCs. For instance, if you want to prevent a user from opening a browser, you can configure Windows to block the app from running using its hash.

To see the actual demo, please watch the video below.

How to Extend CAT6 Cable

Good day readers!

Hi! I'm Glen Villar of Reynaxis Solutions, welcome to my blog.

Laying out CAT6 cables can be an easy process and sometimes, it can be troublesome. Usually, when we are running network cables, we would run them on a cable tray or inside a conduit. When the conduits go through the walls and ceiling, it can be hard to remove and rerun a new cable, especially if the concrete the cable has gone through has been permanently sealed.

For instances when the cables are shorter than what was planned, it may seem tempting to just run a new cable. But the truth is, we can now extend the length of cables without resorting to that or adding a switch hub. If you are interested to know how we did it, please watch the video below.

Lotus Rotary Tool Review

Good day, readers!

Hi, I'm Glen Villar of Reynaxis Solutions. Welcome to my blog.

I want to share with you a wonderful tool that I find incredibly useful for my hobbies: the Lotus Rotary Tool. As a watch repair hobbyist, I rely on this tool to buff away scratches on watch straps, glass, and back covers. For electronics, it's perfect for drilling tiny holes on PCBs for component insertion. Additionally, it can scrape off protective coatings on logic boards, cut plastic casings, plywood, wires, and even screws!

It's truly a versatile, one-tool-fits-all kind of tool. Without further ado, here's a video of me and my staff demonstrating its usefulness.
